West Maui
Pu’u kukui was the volcano the created the oldest part of Maui and this drive takes around its shoreline. The west side is home to famous Maui beach resorts and Hawaii’s first Capital. As we venture around we visit one of Maui favorite surf breaks at Honolua. The sea cliffs grow taller and the ocean gets rougher under the influence of the trade winds. Blowholes blast up through the lava rock, a 3000 foot headland watches over the village of Kahakuloa.
