Revelstoke - Kamloops: Canada's desert to mountains
This tour is available in
Driving time: approximately 3 hours plus stops
As we drive from east to west along the TransCanada Highway, the landscape changes between lush mountainscapes to Canada’s own desert and tumbleweeds. If we are coming from Vancouver and the west coast, the dry gulches and small bushes are replaced by increasingly taller peaks and lusher forest as we approach BCs interior rain belt. Pass through the Shuswap Lakes region – Western Canada’s water playground and Canada’s epicenter for houseboating. Visit the location where Canada was joined by the railway to become a true nation spanning the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans - the Last Spike.
Along this route we will pass the junction of Highway 97A that provides access to the northern end of the Okanagan Valley. Kamloops at the western end of this segment is the hub between BCs major interior highways.
