Prince George - Smithers: Agriculture, First Nations and Open Space

This section is available in English and Deutsch.

Driving time: approximately 3 1/2 hours, plus stops.

No matter which direction we are travelling, this is a central section of a long highway drive. The scenery and landscape is as beautiful as it is surprising. Around Prince George we will see the land being worked for agriculture but we will also see much land in its raw state, forest; lakes and mountains.

There is much to learn about the First Nations people on this drive, tales of explorers venturing into this remote region and GyPSy will keep you informed along the way. Vanderhoof and Houston are 2 of the smaller service towns we will encounter on this segment.

Attractions:

  • Prince George
  • Vanderhoof
  • Houston
  • Nechako River
  • Burns Lake
  • Bulkley Valley
