Jasper to Edmonton - Rockies to Alberta's Capital City
This tour is available in
Driving time: approximately 3 1/2 hours – no stops
The main and front ranges of the spectacular Canadian Rocky Mountains give way to gentle foothills and eventually the flatness of the prairies on this drive. The Yellowhead Highway 16 is fast and twinned for driving comfort. There are just 2 towns with major services along the way; Hinton and Edson.
But along the way we'll learn about Albert's riches in resources and the industries that power the province's economy. This was also an important exploration route and many places still link us to a past of railway development and fur trading.
