Vancouver - Driving Tour of Vancouver; Icons and Secrets
Vancouver is a large and beautiful city with many things to see and do. Our self drive tour of Vancouver is divided into 2 parts that visit different areas of the city.
The GyPSy Guide Vancouver driving tour is available in English and Deutsch.
Vancouver Driving Tour Part 1 (part 2 follows below) - Downtown, Stanley Park and south Vancouver attractions.
Driving time: at least 1 full day with stops.
Vancouver is Canada’s most culturally diverse and considered by its citizens to be Canada's most attractive city - and it is hard to disagree. This first part of our driving tour takes us to all of the classic best attractions of Vancouver.
For this drive it is suggested to begin on cosmopolitan Robson Street by driving west toward spectacular Stanley Park. We'll do a full loop of Stanley Park and many stops are recommended. We will leave Stanley Park at English Bay and cross over False Creek on the Burrard Bridge.
Vanier Park provides access to 3 of Vancouver's best museums. After leaving Vanier Park we will have a choice to take the beautiful beachfront drive through Kitsilano, Spanish Banks and on to Point Grey or go directly to Granville Island. At Point Grey, we can stop to visit the excellent Museum of Anthropology at University of British Columbia and its impressive collection of First Nations artifacts. This drive continues back toward downtown visiting the scrumptious Granville Island Markets on the way.
The Granville Bridge connects us back to downtown and we will visit trendy Yaletown and Vancouver's Chinatown. This Chinatown is authentic and one of the largest outside of Asia. Finally we complete the loop by visiting historic Gastown which juxtaposes against ultra-modern Canada Place and the cruise ship terminal. The loop is completed on return to Robson Street.
All along the way GyPSy Guide will tell you interesting stories about the many interesting things to see and do while visiting Vancouver and provide directions to help you follow the designed tour toute. If you are leaving Vancouver from the airport or continuing to Victoria by ferry, GyPSy will have directions and more stories to get you there.

Vancouver Driving Tour Part 2 - North Shore Mountains, Parks and Canyons
Driving time: at least 1 full day with stops.
The second section of our driving tour of Vancouver visits the north side of Burrard Inlet. Cross the Impressive Lions Gate Bridge to get across to the North Shore.
From there we immediately have the option of a side trip through stunning West Vancouver. On that drive we will pass though many lovely neighborhoods including Ambleside. The highlight of this drive is a visit to the less frequented but stunning Lighthouse Park. Wander through huge old growth trees to access the lighthouse and water. At the waterside, watch for seals bobbing in the harbor, starfish clinging to rocks and the occasional cruise ship passing by.
Return to the North Vancouver and climb the mountain towards two of Vancouvers best loved attractions: Capilano Suspension Bridge and Grouse Mountain. A visit to Lonsdale Quay is next for a look at the markets. From there we can drive to another suspension bridge at Lynn Canyon - this one is free to visit.
Deep Cove is another side trip that most tourists never see. A tranquil community at the waters edge and an awesome bakery not to be missed. Cross the Iron Workers Memorial - 2nd Narrows Bridge and we will return to downtown Vancouver.
If we are driving for the day trip to Whistler on the awe-inspiring Sea to Sky Highway, the GyPSy Guide will provide directions and commentary from the Lions Gate Bridge on our tour all the way to Whistler and beyond.
Driving in Vancouver is quite easy and your GyPSy Guide will provide you with directions to help you stay on the sightseeing route so you don't miss a thing. And you'll see loads of thing that most visitors don't even hear about!
