Okanagan Self-Drive Wine Tour

In the last 30 years the popularity of the Okanagan as a wine producing area has exploded. Today the region offers a fascinating opportunity to visit wineries and meet the characters who have propelled Canadian and especially Okanagan wines to world attention. From fruity whites to robust reds and of course famous icewines, you will enjoy the adventure of touring, tasting and learning the stories of this remarkable region.

Part of the magic of wine touring in the Okanagan is that we can see wineries at all different stages in their development.  One thing that you will find common to all wineries is a love of their craft and an enthusiasm to share their love with visitors.

Our wine tour visits 17 wineries, a cidery and a stunning heritage inn with a wine collection to rival all others.  The wineries on our tour represent an excellent cross section on the wine making world in the Okanagan featuring wineries from Kelowna all the way to Osoyoos.

GyPSy Guide will help point out each winery’s unique aspects and provide tips on what to taste and look for at each location.  We will discuss in general terms, the effect of soil, temperature and precipitation between more-temperate Kelowna and the dry, hot Canadian desert around Black Sage Road and the Golden Mile.

If you are a first time winery tourer, GyPSy will give you the confidence to go in and taste new wines while experienced wine appreciators will enjoy the tips and specialties to look out for.

There are too many wineries to visit in a single day so pick an area and explore.  We recommend at least a full weekend and to be sure to drive the entire axis of the valley to gain a true appreciation of what is on offer.
